Photography is a passion of mine that has had a very long incubation period. For as long as I can remember, I've lived between the lines of being an engineer and an artist.
In high school, I excelled in science, but also wrote and performed for stage productions. In college, my first major was engineering, but my second was art. I painted in my dorm room but did engineering and production at the campus radio station. After college, my first job was at an audio/video studio. I cut sound effects and foley with precision, then used the studio to record my own music. When I helped start a new Internet service in 1993, I was both a system administrator and a web designer.
With photography, digital especially, I've found a medium that satisfies both sides of my brain. The technical chops come easy for me - the real challenge is in always reaching out and growing as an artist. I hope it never stops.
